Terms, Conditions, and Restrictions

All plays are protected by copyright laws and conventions. It is an infringement of
copyright law to give a performance or reading of any such play or excerpt without prior
consent of the author. Any performance or reading of the play for an audience
whether the audience pays admission or not, is considered a performance and
requires royalties be paid for that performance. It is also a violation of copyright
law to copy part or all of the a play by any means, including typewriter, photocopy, video
tape or any electronic means.

We recognize that many melodramas and other will include various audience
interactions and spontaneous comments, so we welcome minor changes in the
script made for the purpose of tailoring the script to suit your particular theater’s needs.
Changes in the gender of various parts to suit the availability of the actors in your area
is granted.

Whenever the play is produced, credit must be given on all programs, printing, and
advertising of the play must include author’s name and the exact title of the play as well
as the following statement:

“Produced by special arrangement with PlaysForStage.com.”

The terms and conditions of this agreement apply to nonprofessional stage
rights only. All other rights of every kind and nature, including but not limited to
television, video or audio taping, in whole or in part, or any other form of mechanical or
electronic reproduction, such as information storage and retrieval systems and
photocopying, are reserved by the author(s) and are not included in the terms and
conditions.

No rights for all video taping or sound recording is given without securing a
separate video and photography rights addendum available online.

An order for scripts that equal the number of characters in the play must be bought
before the rights to a performance will be given. If you are planning on doubling parts,
please email us so we know your script order is sufficient for number of actors you will
have in the play in order to provide you performance rights to the play.

Rights for PlaysForStage.com’s plays may be withdrawn at any time without prior
notification. We have no intention of withdrawing rights, but PlaysForStage.com
reserves the rights for doing so if some unforeseen situation arises.
